Day 1 JULY 21 AKWAABA – WELCOME
Arrive in Accra, Ghana. Transfer from the airport to your hotel for a welcome drink and orientation. After lunch, embark on a sightseeing tour of the city. You will visit the W. E. B. Dubois Center for Pan African Culture, Independence/Black Star Square and Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park. You will return to the hotel for a leisurely late afternoon relaxation. Day 2 JULY 22 ACCRA – SALAGA
After breakfast, check out of your hotel and depart to the Kotoka Domestic Airport for a flight to Tamale, Northern Region. Upon arrival, we will drive to Salaga – an ancient town that served as an important market from where slaves were transported to the coast for export. This is where most of the slave trade was done after able bodied men and children were captured. This point is where our ancestors were sold to slave masters. Apart from the slave market, the town boast other slavery monuments and relics, including the Salaga Slave Cemetery, slave warehouse, drinking wells, chains, iron shackles and spears. An atonement ceremony will be held for you by the villagers who will wash your feet as an act of regret and humbly seek your forgiveness for the roles played by their ancestors. Day 3 JULY 23 TAMALE – MOLE NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast check out of your hotel and drive the Sahelian towns Mole National Park. Upon arrival, check in and relax. Dinner and overnight at your hotel in Mole.

Day 4 JULY 24 MOLE – KUMASI
Embark on an early morning trek through the National Park to view some of West Africa’s big game (elephants, antelopes, waterbucks, wart hogs baboons, monkeys and more). After breakfast, check out for a drive to Kumasi. Stop to visit Kintampo Falls and experience the cool invigorating atmosphere. Continue the drive to Kumasi. Upon arrival, check in and relax. Dinner and overnight at your hotel in Kumasi.

Day 5 JULY 25 KUMASI CITY TOUR
After breakfast, depart for a drive through Kumasi - the seat of the Ashanti Empire. Explore the legend of the famous Ashantis at the Manhyia Palace Museum. There you will get a sense of a day in the life of an Ashanti ruler (Asantehene). At the museum, you will also obtain firsthand information on the legacies of the Ashanti kingdom, a regal history that dates back to 1700 and is told with relics and artifacts. Next, enjoy a drive through the city of Kumasi to view monuments dedicated to the memory of great Ashanti people. End the day’s tour at the National Cultural Center, featuring the Prempeh II Jubilee Museum and the studios of various potters, brass and batik makers. Dinner and overnight at your hotel. Day 6 JULY 26 ASHANTI CRAFT VILLAGES – ELMINA
After breakfast, we will check out for a drive to the Central Region. Enroute, we will visit the three famous craft villages in the Ashanti Region: Ahwiaa (the woodcarvers’ village), Ntonso (the home of Adinkra) and Bonwire (the Kente weaving village). You will have the opportunity to see how West African crafts are made and buy directly from the artisans who make them. After lunch, depart for a drive through the forest zone to Cape Coast. Dinner and overnight at your hotel. Lodging: Hotel in Cape Coast Meals: B, D

Day 7 JULY 27 CAPE COAST CASTLE – ELMINA CASTLE
After breakfast, depart for a tour of the infamous forts, castles and slave dungeons of Ghana. On this tour you will experience the physical history of the slave trade, the impact of which is still felt beyond the shores of Africa today. Visit the Cape Coast Castle, which was built by the Swedes in 1653 and later taken over by the British. The castle also houses the West African Historical Museum, established by the Smithsonian Institute in collaboration with the Ghanaian Government in 1994. After lunch, visit the Elmina Castle built by the Portuguese in 1482 and also known as St. George's Castle. This castle was the first European structure built in Sub – Saharan Africa. Day 8 JULY 28 KAKUM NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, depart to explore the historic Denkyira Kingdom, particularly Kakum National Park. Kakum is one of West Africa’s surviving tropical rain forests, spanning over 360sq km and filled with diverse and dense vegetation. A blend of true rainforest and semi deciduous forest, Kakum is the home to over 40 large mammals, 400 bird species and a breathtaking array of butterflies, flora and fauna. The most popular attraction in the forest is the canopy walkway which is made up of seven bridges extending 330m and hanging 40m above the forest floor. You will be given the choice to walk the canopy or enjoy a 2km nature walk through the forest to discover the wide variety of exotic floral species and the medicinal values they offer. After lunch, depart for a drive along the coast to Accra. Dinner and overnight at your hotel. Lodging: Hotel in Accra Meals: B, D

Day 9 JULY 29 ½ DAY ACCRA CITY TOUR
Morning at leisure after breakfast. Depart your hotel after lunch for a tour at the Arts Centre where you will have an opportunity to use your bargaining skills to shop from an open-air market for artifacts from Ghana and West Africa. Alternatively: After lunch, embark on a full day sightseeing tour of the city. You will visit the W. E. B. Dubois Center for Pan African Culture, Independence/Black Star Square and Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park. You will return to the hotel for a leisurely late afternoon relaxation. Dinner and overnight at your hotel. Lodging: Hotel in Accra Meals: B, D

Day 10 JULY 30 DAY AT LEISURE / DEPARTURE
Breakfast will be served at your hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure or last minute shopping. Check out and transfer to the airport for check-in and departure.

Amazing Ghana's Cancellation Policy
All cancellations must be in writing. Deposits fully refundable up to thirty (30) days before departure, less $400 deposit.
Maximum charge for cancellation will be fifty (50) percent up to ten (10) days before departure. Cancellation insurance is recommended.
